This is one of my most favorite forms of racing
one of the reasons is it is a test of yourself you can spend all the money in the world , have all the best equipment and it all comes down to your inner self if you can do it
now don't get me wrong the average road goer hits approximately 15 bumps per mile and on a 396 mile race that is a lot of kicks in the rear ( 5940 kicks to be exact) having a bad shock can be the end of your spine or having a excellent shock can be like driving in a lazy boy so just some good advice "let the shock take the kicks not you". there are many aftermarket shocks out there for most popular scooters and if one isn't available for you most shock rebuilding shops can custom set up your stock shock to cater to your needs by modifying the stock inner dampening valve, changing the oil weight and or volume and replacing the spring to a progressive style design. keep in mind the front forks can be tailored the same way. another problem on long rides is this, anyone who rides any sort of distance knows you start to develop that knot in your rear after about a hour of riding what that is, is that section is lacking circulation , sort of like when your foot falls asleep it feels like you have a chunk of rubber stuck to the bottom of your heel the reason it is this way is to much pressure on that area "the fix" you need to spread your weight over a larger area , cupping the seat in or widening it helps considerably as does the use of different grades of foam .
all this helps your inner self

You can check on their web page, I don't think they have a 50cc class for the endurance runs. I'm fairly sure the speed record event last year had a 50cc class. www.aesracingltd.com/
